A full-service dental laboratory in the heart of Manhattan. For over 30 years we have served the most demanding clientele, with a reputation for complex cases such as full-mouth reconstruction and combination cases with implants, crowns, bridges and veneers.
Our story
Our origin · Since 1981
Boris Abayev began his dental journey in Israel in 1981. He was one of the pioneers of implant dentistry, working alongside the leading dentists and surgeons of his day and treating VIPs, political leaders and royalty.
In that world, his name became synonymous with extraordinary talent and the highest quality. When a case was too complex for anyone else, it was entrusted to Boris.
In 1988 he immigrated to the United States and founded Advanced Dental Laboratory Corp., bringing his expertise to a new country with a new aspiration: to make his mark in New York.
That aspiration still sets the standard on Madison Avenue. In 2005, Boris’s son David Abayev joined him at the bench. Today, two generations work side by side, pairing digital design, milling and printing with the hand-finished artistry Boris built his name on. The tools have changed. The way we treat every case, and every doctor, has not.
What sets us apart is how closely we work with our dentists and their teams to achieve the highest quality, in both function and cosmetics.
Knowing that your patients need a speedy response, we are here for you: typically 4–5 lab days, with same-day or next-day turnaround for flippers, repairs and crowns.
The people
Founder · Master of Dental Cosmetics
Boris founded Advanced Dental Laboratory in 1988. He is certified in restoring implants by the Institute of Oral Implantologie in Germany, among other organizations. His techniques in advanced ceramics and sub-structure design have been recognized nationally and internationally, and he has personally worked on patient cases for international politicians and royalty. His goal has always been to work with the elite dentists of the world.
Master of Dental Technology
Following in his father's path, David carries on the method of personal attention to every patient case and every doctor's needs. Trained under his father's direction, he has been actively involved in implant restoration and carries the implant department into the lab's next generation.
David is an active member of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and the National Association of Dental Laboratories, and was elected Executive Coordinator on the Scientific Committee for the World Congress for Oral Implantology 6 in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Our lab & technology
To keep current with today's technology, we have joined forces with Dentsply Sirona, Carestream, BlueSkyBio, Nobel Biocare, iTero, 3Shape, exocad and Atlantis to provide CAD/CAM restorations and zirconia implant abutments. Contracts with many other dental technology providers let us offer the full range.
We accept scans from iTero, 3Shape, Medit, Shining 3D, Straumann AXS, Dexis, DS Core and more. Our iTero Lab ID is 4364; other systems can link to us via info@adlny.com.
Team & equipment
A team of 14 technicians from around the globe, many of whom have been with us for years.
Every case is designed digitally by our technicians, in exocad, 3Shape, Blue Sky Plan and RealGUIDE.
In-house milling for ceramics, zirconia, custom implant abutments and more.
Models, surgical guides, try-ins and appliances printed in house.
Sintering, porcelain firing and glaze firing for every ceramic restoration.
Each restoration is inspected under magnification before it leaves the bench.
